Moscow, Europe Brief News – Russian president Vladimir Putin expressed his country’s willing to hold high-level talks with Ukraine.
This came in a phone call with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday.
“The United States and Nato have long ignored Russia’s reasonable security concerns, repeatedly reneged on their commitments, and continued to advance military deployment eastward, challenging Russia’s strategic bottom line,” Putin told Xi.
“Russia is willing to conduct high-level negotiations with Ukraine,” he further said.
It comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues, with Putin’s troops further advancing into Kyiv.
Earlier Friday morning, Russian tanks entered the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, as Moscow’s invasion of the country accelerated, forcing president Volodymyr Zelensky into hiding.
Day One of the Invasion
Russia launched its invasion by land, air and sea on Thursday following a declaration of war by President Vladimir Putin. An estimated 100,000 people fled as explosions and gunfire rocked major cities. Zelenskyy said 137 people died on the first day of the attack.
According to the reports that are coming about casualties include some Ukrainian civilians and soldiers along with Russian troops.
Volodymyr Zelensky said “My country would not give up it’s freedom”. Moreover he Tweeted “ Russia has embarked on a path of evil, but Ukraine is defending itself”.
Ukraine announced martial law in the country and broken all the diplomatic ties with Russia. It says weapons are available for anyone who wants them.
