EBN-Experts expect the cost of Apple’s first flexible-screen iPhone to rise significantly, potentially doubling the price of its current high-end model. Industry analysts predict a starting price of around $2,300.
This estimate, shared by Barclays analyst Tim Long, highlights a potential new price bracket for Apple products, far beyond the standard pricing structure of its current product lineup
L ong’s information stems from recent discussions with hardware suppliers in Asia, indicating growing expectations for it launch sometime between late 2026 and early 2027.
The expected price, while high, is not exceptional. Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously suggested a price range of $2,000 to $2,500. This consensus among analysts indicates a premium device that will attract significant investment from consumers.
Kuo’s analysis provides more details about the potential features of this foldable phone. It is expected to include a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.5-inch external display, in addition to two rear cameras and one front camera.
Instead of the traditional Face ID feature, the device may use a Touch ID power button , and is expected to have a high-capacity battery. The device’s design is expected to be slim, with a thickness of about 4.5 mm when unfolded, and between 9 and 9.5 mm when folded.
The outer shell is likely to be made of titanium, with a hinge that combines titanium and stainless steel.
The possibility of it with a wrinkle-free display is a key factor in the device’s potential success.
Kuo notes that if Apple can achieve this, the high price may not deter potential buyers, and the device is expected to enter mass production in the fourth quarter of 2026.
This price is a bit high, given that other foldable phones are priced around $1,800 for the base models. However, if Apple succeeds in delivering a nearly wrinkle-free design, it could encourage iPhone fans to invest in it.
