New York, Europe Brief News- Rihanna has been selected as 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show performer.
The singer will take the field at Super Bowl LVII, scheduled for February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, just outside of Phoenix
Rihanna confirmed the news on Instagram by a shot of her hand holding a football and the simple caption: “.”
The confirmation is especially exciting for Rihanna’s fandom, known as the Navy, after the singer’s lengthy hiatus from music.
Since the release of her last album, Anti, in 2016, she has focused on building up her clothing and beauty empires (namely, her lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty, and makeup and skincare line, Fenty Beauty), to say nothing of becoming a mother this past spring.
Rihanna returned to music with a track on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. And, of course, she’s been blessing the fandom with products from Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Savage x Fenty along with a fashion show that combines it all.
Released six years on from her last EP, ANTI, “Lift Me Up” will be the lead single for the Marvel sequel’s soundtrack – and Ri’s first solo track since “Sledgehammer” in 2016.
Fans can watch the Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 4 on Amazon’s Prime Video.
