Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has unmasked his intentions about Ronaldo’s position in Man United Squad, English sports agency confirmed today.
The English manager reassured the fans that Ronaldo will be playing upfront once he is ready to play. And the clubs, Man United and the Old Lady, have to finalize the move—it is complete.
The 36-year-old is officially a Red Devil once again, after around 13 years away. There are yet some procedures that need to be completed.
Ronaldo coming to Man Utd has been crazy, as all reports linked the player to Man City, which was true. However, United, particularly Sir Alex Ferguson, entered the race, dropping out of Man City.
All this has happened in a blink of an eye, as Ronaldo announced his intention to leave. And his agent started looking for a club; Man City was most likely to sign the Portuguese. Suddenly, the Red Devils sealed the deal as fast as it ever could be.
Solskajer: ‘Ronaldo scoring goals’
While the deal is not fully complete, the remaining are just formalities. Once it is complete, and even now, the manager has been receiving dozens of questions regarding the position of Ronaldo.
The English manager, in turn, has answered clearly to the fans, expressing his specific intention for the player.
Solskajer declared that Ronaldo is not like the Ronaldo of 2008. The player has developed greatly and can play wherever.
“Cristiano has evolved as a player,” said Solskajer, “He used to play wide right, wide left, upfront.”
Nevertheless, the manager has been even clearer when he said “but he’s more of a center forward for me at the moment, definitely. There will be games we play with two up front or three upfront but I want him in the box. I want him scoring goals.”
Concerning his thoughts about the transfer, Solskajer expressed his delight over the arrival of Ronaldo. The manager told that the player is a great asset and invaluable addition to the squad.
“We’ve always been watching Cristiano,” he said, “The one day he was going to move, we’d be interested. We never thought he was going to leave Juventus this season but when we did we had to speak to him, of course.”
English sports agency reported that Ronaldo may first appear with the Red jersey again after the international break. He may play in the Newcastle fixture on September 11.
