Kyiv, Europe Brief News – Russian Military have Bore down on Kyiv with heavy gunfire and explosions reaching ever closer to the Country’s Capital. The Russian invasion has created chances for a wider war in Europe that have severe consequences.
For the time being it is uncertain about how much of Ukraine is still under Ukrainian control and how much Russian forces have captured.
The US and other global powers have imposed severe sanctions on Russia for invading Ukraine which can be disastrous for the world’s economy as economies had just started to rebound from Covid-19.
NATO leaders held an important meeting to come up with a viable solution to go against Putin to prevent further explosions without getting into a direct war with the Russian Military.
The Day 2 of Russia’s invasion focused more on the Ukranian Capital Kyiv as gunfire and explosions were being heard in different areas.
The Russian military claimed that they have successfully captured a strategic airport outside kyiv that enabled them to quickly build up forces to seize the Ukraine’s Capital.
Extreme fire broke out on a bridge across the Dnieper River dividing the eastern and western sides of Kyiv, with about 200 Ukrainian forces adapting defensive positions and taking shelter behind their armed vehicles.
The Ukrainian officials have confirmed 137 deaths on the Ukrainian side while they have gunned down hundreds of Russian troops.
On the other side, UN officials reported 25 civilian deaths and suggested that almost 100,000 people have left their homes already.
Zelensky Pleading for Negotiation talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy requested Russia to hold talks and asked western powers to impose strict sanctions on Russia and help Ukraine military to fight with Russia.
He said “ When bomb fall on Kyiv, it happens in Europe, not just in Ukraine and when Missiles kill our people, they kill all Europeans”.
Zelensky has offered to negotiate on one of Putin’s demands that Ukraine must claim itself as neutral and abandon its intention of joining NATO.
In the response the Kremlin said that they were planning to hold talks in Belarus to discuss that but it is now a tad too late for that. The Ukrainian president must have agreed on the terms before.
Russia has invaded Ukraine after weeks of denial of having any plan to invade Ukraine but Putin said that the West gave him no other choice but to fight for Russia’s security concerns.
