Kyiv, Europe Brief News – Ukrainian forces are preparing for a new Russian assault and attacks in the southeast region. Moscow’s guns will now be heading towards the assault on the capital Kyiv. It has been five weeks since the invasion of Russia in Ukraine.
The attacks have blasted cities into wastelands. This has resulted from more than 4 million refugees moving to other countries. U.S. and European officials have revealed that Russian President Vladimir Putin was misled by his generals about the performance of Russia’s military.
Tough resistance by Ukrainian forces has made Russia unsuccessful in capturing any major city. Moscow says that it will now be focusing on “liberating” the Donbas region. They are the southeastern provinces that are partly controlled by separatists Russia has been backing since 2014.
During an early morning video address, Zelenskiy said that Russian troop movements that were away from Kyiv and the northern city of Chernihiv are not a withdrawal. They are the consequence of the defenders’ work.
Ukraine was attacked by the Russian forces and expected new strikes on the Donbas. The next target might be Mariupol, where most buildings are damaged or destroyed after the four weeks of the Russian attacks.
Russian Assault Continues To Grow
The past week has been challenging for Ukraine. They try to recapture the destroyed suburbs of Kyiv. Some other towns and villages in the north and southwest are also under their control. However, recently Russia is trying to extend the peace talks and limit their assault. According to a new update from the US, Russia is planning to launch a special military operation.
They will soon disarm their neighbor and reduce their war of aggression. It seems that Russia aims to swiftly move towards toppling the government in Kyiv. However, a failure in this plan has brought economic disparity and diplomatic isolation.
Military analysts believe that strategies of Russian assault don’t seem to end very soon. They will focus on Donbas to reframe their war goals for the future. It is a way for Putin to claim a face-saving victory. The offensive operations in Mariupol are on the rise.
All previous efforts for reaching Ukraine-held parts by evacuating civilians have not been favorable. Ukraine plans to send a relief convoy using the humanitarian corridor with a back from Red Cross. It secured an agreement with the Russians. Civilians who are driving their cars are shot dead within 5 minutes. People in Mariupol occasionally come out of their homes.
