Kyiv, Europe Brief News – As he spoke with the Ukrainian president on the first stage of a fresh negotiating attempt to prevent conflict, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken indicated that Russia might unveil a new war on Ukraine with a “very little warning.”
Russia said tensions around Ukraine were rising, and it was still expecting a written answer from the United States to its broad security requests.
As Blinken prepares for a conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday, the negative words emphasized the distance between Washington and Moscow, which a Russian international policy specialist described as “possibly the end destination before the train wreckage.”
HOPES OF PEOPLE ARE DYING
The US claims that Russia is endangering its post-Soviet partner and that it is preparing for a new focus, eight years after it grabbed Crimea from Ukraine and supported separatist militants that seized command of significant areas of the nation’s east.
Russia claims Kyiv’s expanding relations with the West constitute a threat, and it wants to set “boundary lines” to prohibit Ukraine from rejoining NATO. And to force NATO to withdraw soldiers and weaponry from east Europe. These requests and statements, according to Washington, are “non-starters.”
Frolov expressed a pessimistic appraisal of the scenario, calling Russia’s military presence in Belarus a “major escalation.”
“I believe that assuming a U.S. surrender and delivery of Ukraine to Russia, some type of military choice is now all but probable.”
The rouble moved slightly on Wednesday after touching an approximately 2 week low over the Us dollar – while Russian equities staged a tiny comeback after three sessions of steep declines, indicating that geopolitical concerns are beginning to be noticed in Moscow. Bonds issued by Ukraine in US dollars are in default.
Earlier month, President Joe Biden’s government authorized an extra $200 million in layered security issue support to Ukraine, bringing the total amount of such military aid to the highest level since Russia’s takeover of Crimea in 2014.
Britain announced on Monday that it has begun delivering Ukraine with anti-tank weaponry to assist with its defense.
The other week, Russia had three rounds of negotiations with the US, NATO, and the 57-nation Organization for security but there was no progress to be seen.
