Spain – Europe Brief News, The General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) reported that 1,131,108 vehicle owners had renewed their vehicle circulation tax corresponding to Tuesday’s 2021-2022 period.
The figure means that 419,668 vehicles capable of renewing the tax have not completed the process with four working days remaining for the purchase of the tag, whose term expires next Monday, January 31.
In total, 1,550,776 vehicle units must acquire the circulation tax, according to data from the DGII. Internal Taxes reported that it had collected 78.7% of the estimated amount for the renewal of the label.
Since the start of the label, renewal season was announced, and until this Tuesday, the collecting institution had revenues of RD$1,875.7 million, of the RD$2,381.7 million it plans to collect.
The DGII warned that no extension would be granted for the tax renewal. The agency indicated that the amounts corresponding to the penalties (surcharge) for non-renewal during the established period are maintained: RD$2,000 for vehicles that do not renew before January 31, 2022, RD$2,100 for those that did not renew the 2020 license plate. -2021 and RD$3,100 to those who did not renew the 2019-2020 and previous years.
The tag cost for vehicles manufactured until 2016 is RD$1,500 and RD$3,000 for units manufactured from 2017, inclusive, onwards.
