Kyiv, Europe Brief News – A Number of Ukrainian in the United States are making handsome donations to help out their families in Ukraine and thinking how they could get their families out of the war zone.
They have even asked Joe Biden to do more than preventing Russia from invading Ukraine. They demand the protection of their friends and families who are stuck in Ukraine.
Around 1 million people in America are of Ukrainian descent with communities dotted around the country, including Los Angeles, where hundreds have demonstrated against Moscow’s Attack.
Sanctions Not Helping The Cause
Earlier this week President Vladmir Putin recognized Separatists states of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent regions of the eastern Ukraine.
In response, the western nations imposed a few sanctions to stop the Russian invasion but did not intend to go too hard against Russia and saved the tougher sanction for later.
Ukrainian in America believe that this is not going to help if world leaders impose sanctions little by little. They believe the US government must go all out against Russia to prevent further destruction of masses in Ukraine.
The Biden administration has declared sanctions and sweeping export restrictions, hammering Russia’s access to global exports of goods from commercial electronics and computers to semiconductors and aircraft parts.
What has Russia Targeted?
The Russian troops initiated the invasion by Striking on Ukrainian military spots and border guard units. Then Russian Vehicles crossed the border near Kharkiv in the North, Luhansk in the East and Russian annexed Crimea from the South.
Some residents from the kharkiv region claimed that the windows in the apartment block was kept shaking due to continuous bombing from Russian military.
Why did Russia invade?
Recently, the Russian president made an announcement that Russia is ready to recognize the separatists regions collectively known as Donbass as independent republics in eastern Ukraine.
Russia backed rebels successfully seized the breakaway regions after Russia invaded Crimea in 2014. Since then almost 14,000 people have died in the east in a conflict between Rebels and Ukraine.
Putin announced that the only objective to military operation is to protect the people of breakaway areas.
