EBN-Google said that a new YouTube system it is testing will cut down on notifications from subscribed channels you no longer view. By changing their notification preferences to “All,” users may make sure they receive push alerts for all of the activity from their preferred channels.
When you don’t watch a channel but still get reminders about it, though, this is annoying. Although unsubscribing is the only alternative available at the moment, YouTube’s system, which is still in development, might provide a practical answer if you have many channels to which you have already subscribed.
Google claims that viewers will not have the same experience during this experiment if they haven’t recently interacted with a channel but are still getting push alerts. They won’t get push alerts from the channel, but they will still be accessible through the YouTube app’s notification box.
Neither YouTube channels that often publish videos nor those with whom viewers actively interact will be impacted by this trial.
Google claims that users simply decide to turn off notifications completely at the app level rather than changing their options or opting out of channel alerts one at a time.
According to the business, the goal of its experiment is to resolve this issue without completely turning off the app’s notifications.
However, not all YouTube viewers may currently access this experience because it is still in the testing stage.
Other recent attempts on YouTube
YouTube started an experiment earlier this month that automatically forwards videos with the rating of “limited or no ads” for further suitability review. This implies that recently published reviews—even private ones—will be reviewed for monetization, a process that may take up to 24 hours.
The video streaming service later revealed that it is testing a technology that will let customers conceal end screens on mobile and desktop computers. When end screens show up, a “Hide” icon will show up in the upper-right corner of the video, enabling them to be concealed.
