David Alaba has tested positive for COVID-19, said the club today.
The Austrian international has joined Real Madrid this summer after his contract with Bayern expired.
His quest with the Los Blancos has not started yet. It will get off until the player tests negative to rejoin the group.
The 29-year-old has to train alone, as he is quarantined. This came as a shock to the coming-back manager, who prepares for the new season.
It is reported that Alaba’s infection could be put other players on the danger list. But nothing is confirmed.
Fortunately though, the club still has time for their opening match in La Liga on Aug. 14. By that time, the player should be available in Ancelotti’s squad.

The Spanish club urgently needs a quick recovery for David Alaba, as Ancelotti has no options in the back. After Ramos and Varane, Alaba is their ace in the hole when it comes to the backline.
As Real Madrid face financial uncertainty, the club is not probably reinforcing the squad this summer market. Spanish counterparts, on the other hand, paid heavily in this market to strengthen the team.
