EBN- Researchers have confirmed that drinking tea daily not only helps improve mood, but may also play a major role in delaying biological aging.
Scientists from Sichuan University in China spoke about an in-depth exploration of how tea contributes to a longer life and better health, especially since it is a popular drink that many people consume daily in various countries of the world.
The scientists examined data from about 8,000 people in China, aged between 30 and 79, and about 6,000 volunteers from Britain, aged between 37 and 73. They collected details about the volunteers’ food consumption patterns and asked them to record the amount of tea they consumed.
Participants provided details about their tea drinking habits, highlighting the type of tea they enjoy – green, black or yellow – along with their daily consumption levels.
The results of the study published on the Earth website indicated that the magic number that can provide the most obvious anti-aging benefits is about 3 cups, or 6 to 8 grams of tea leaves per day.
Scientists explained that the reason behind the amazing benefits of tea is polyphenols, the main bioactive substances in tea, which play a crucial role in influencing gut microbes, leading to age-related changes related to immunity, metabolism and even cognitive function.
