London, Europe Breif News – Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dave and Dean ‘Inflo’ Josiah Cover will lead nominations for the 2022 Ivor Novello Awards.
The ceremony will take place at London’s Grosvenor House, on Thursday May 19. The event will further honour British and Irish songwriters and screen composers,
77 individual songwriters and composers are celebrated on the list, including Adele with two nominations, Ed Sheeran with three nods and Dean ‘Inflo’ Josiah Cover, who is this year’s most-nominated songwriter with four nominations.
This year sees five huge artists in the running for the coveted Songwriter of the Year Ivor Novello Awards. The nominees are Adele, Coldplay, Dave, Ed Sheeran and Raye. For the second year, members of The Ivors Academy will vote for their winner.
Producer and writer Inflo, once called “the most influential and mysterious producer on the planet”, leads the award nominations.
He is recognised for his work with Brit Award-winner Little Simz, singer Cleo Sol and funk-soul collective Sault.
Ed Sheeran, who just won a plagiarism battle, is up for three prizes.
As well as songwriter of the year, the star has two tracks Bad Habits and Shivers for music most performed work category. It recognises the song heard most often on UK radio and television in the last year.
Also nominated in that category are Elton John and Dua Lipa’s Cold Heart; Tom Grennan’s Little Bit Of Love; and David Guetta, Joel Corry and Raye’s dance anthem Bed.
